Could have been better....
Well, it was a good attempt, and could have been a very decent game. If there is a sequel, I'd like to advise a few key elements:
-PLEASE no random generation! In an adventure game, that's just frustrating. You can have maybe a dungeon that's randomly generated, but just one.
-Variety! There should be different appearances for each boss, and their dungeons should reflect their style. Also, there should be more enemy types.
-Purpose! There should be a better reason for getting new weapons other than "it can unlock (x) color door". There should be certain enemies that can't be hurt by some weapons and only by another. The different weapons should have different functions like "this one can shoot through walls" or "this one has a wide blast radius".
-More Weapons! That one speaks for itself.
-...And last but not least... Music! The first noticable flaw is the lack of music. The music should be different for the forest and dungeons.
In closing, the graphics were pretty good in some spots, and the controls were excellent. (Don't listen to what those other guys say about "you have to get really close to the enemy to hit him". They obviously don't understand that the robot with the swinging arms has to be hit from the sides.) It's got potential, but it just lacks most of what usually makes this genre great.
3 out of ten.
